Governor Kaine's Stimulus Website 2/13/09
Governor Tim Kaine
Wants to Hear from
You!

Governor Tim Kaine has invited Virginians to share their ideas as to how any federal stimulus money the Commonwealth may receive should be spent and has established a website for that purpose, www.stimulus.virginia.gov.

By clicking on the above link, you will be brought to a page in which you can input your email address. You will then receive an email with a link to follow that will bring you to an electronic form on which you can record your suggestions on a range of issues including transportation.

A recent
Alliance survey of transportation professionals identified the following "ready-to-go" stimulus candidates as offering the greatest mobility benefits to our region.
  • I-66 westbound inside the Beltway Spot Improvement Phase 2 (Washington Blvd. to Dulles Access Road)
  • Fairfax County Parkway/Fair Lakes Parkway/Monument Drive Interchange
  • Fairfax County Parkway Engineering Proving Grounds Extension (Phases 3 and 4)
  • I-66 outside the Beltway Pavement Rehabilitation (Beltway to Route 50)
  • Route 50 widening (Poland Road in Loudoun to Lee Road in Fairfax)
Enter the names of these or other projects you favor in the "Project Description" box and submit them for Governor Kaine's consideration. Under "Category" select "Infrastructure-Transportation" and under "Project Status" click "Shovel-Ready."

Don't worry about start/end dates or amount of funding needed. Locality information is also optional.
