Who Knew?

The survey was conducted by OpinionWorks of Annapolis, MD. The firm describes itself as the polling organization for the Baltimore Sun. Its clients include: Maryland State Arts Council, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Washington’s Metro System, the Wilderness Federation and National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The wording of the question from which the above results were collected was as follows, “Just based on your own opinion, what is the most important long term issue or challenge facing the Washington Region – I mean the one you would most like to see the region’s leaders do something about?...And what is the second most important?

The survey, conducted for the Greater Washington Coalition 2050 and released today, finds that most area residents identify transportation as the first or second most important long term challenge facing the metropolitan Washington region. This frequency is greater than that of the second and third answers combined.
