Route 7
Route 7 Upgrade

Alliance Position:
Re-construct as limited access facility with a minimum of three lanes in each direction between the Fairfax/Loudoun County line and Dulles Toll Road in Tysons Corner.

The Project:
Widening 8.48 miles of Route 7 to six-lanes with a median from the Fairfax/Loudoun County line to the Dulles Toll Road.

Current Status:
Right-of-way acquisition for the Rolling Holly Drive to Reston Avenue portion of Route 7 could begin in August. This 1.2 mile portion of the upgrade is estimated to cost $37 million. The project is expected to be advertised for construction in December 2012. Estimated Cost:
The 2035 Draft Virginia Surface Transportation Plan estimates the cost of the entire Route 7 project at $251,576,000.
